About

crack-time.tools is a small collection of free, browser-based reference tools for security and cryptography work. It exists because the generic online calculators for these tasks are often out of date, cluttered, or wrong, and because a good reference tool should not require an account or send your input to a server.

Who makes it

These tools are built and maintained by a working security researcher who uses them day to day. The post-quantum data tracks the finalized NIST standards (FIPS 203/204/205); the CVE tool draws on the public NVD, FIRST EPSS, and CISA KEV data sources; and the password estimator is deliberate about the gap between a random password and a real one.

Accuracy

Care is taken to keep the reference data correct, but these tools are provided for general information and estimation. For anything that matters, verify against the primary standard or data source, each of which is linked from the relevant tool. See the Terms for the full disclaimer.
